Myoreflex therapy

Muscles react to stimuli, as they increase their tension. This is where Myoreflex therapy comes into its own and utilizes a reverse approach, sending “feedback” to the brain by applying pressure to the muscles.

Myoreflex therapy – founded by Dr. med. Kurt Mosetter – combines a variety of anatomical, biomechanical, neurophysiological and psychological aspects with principles of Far Eastern teachings, such as traditional Chinese medicine.

The central idea is that pain essentially indicates a disturbance in the body’s equilibrium. Initially, the body attempts to compensate for this imbalance itself (etc. one-sided straining, overloading, permanent tension, injuries). If it doesn’t manage to do this, you experience pain. The site at which the pain occurs is not necessarily where its cause lies.

The first objective of Myoreflex therapy is to locate the sites from which the problem originates by feeling the tension conditions. By manually applying pressure to the muscle attachments, targeted stimuli are applied which should help the patient to feel disorders for themselves and restore original movement patterns.
